LVEDC will present its Leadership Award for Commitment to the Lehigh Valley to Pat Browne at its 2023 Annual Meeting on March 21.

Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp. (LVEDC) will honor former state Senator and current Acting Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue Pat Browne with its Leadership Award for Commitment to the Lehigh Valley at the organization’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 21, at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks.

The Annual Meeting program begins at 3:30 p.m. and also will feature a panel discussion on regional collaboration with the mayors of Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton moderated by LVEDC President and CEO Don Cunningham, along with other exciting agenda items to be announced in the coming weeks.

LVEDC will honor Pennsylvania’s Acting Revenue Secretary and former state legislator Pat Browne at is 2023 Annual Meeting on March 21

Browne, a Lehigh Valley native, served in the state Senate for 18 years. Prior to being elected to his Senate seat, he served 10 years in the state House of Representatives. In January, he was nominated by Gov. Josh Shapiro to serve as Secretary of Revenue.

Browne has long been a champion for economic development in the Lehigh Valley and a dedicated partner with LVEDC in initiatives to grow the regional economy.

As a legislator, he helped secure state funding that supported Lehigh Valley economic development efforts, including the LVEDC-led regional talent strategies initiative, the Made Possible in Lehigh Valley regional marketing partnership, and the work of LVEDC’s Education and Talent Supply Council.

“It is thanks to Pat Browne’s support that LVEDC has been able to implement many of the talent strategies and initiatives we’ve put into place over the last several years,” Cunningham said. “We were able to get out ahead of other regions and states on this critical issue because of Pat’s early involvement.”
