September 2019 Issue of LVstartup E-Newsletter Has Been Released

The September 2019 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about young professionals networking over cornhole, high school students exploring the workforce before graduation, the newly-released Lehigh Valley Relocation Guide, and the Made Possible in Lehigh Valley Instagram account.
Other stories included Allegiant Air establishing a $50 million aircraft base, Colony Meadery and the changing beverage industry, Polyteck expanding with the acquisition of an Oregon firm, and a paper cup manufacturing establishing a facility in the Lehigh Valley.
The issue also spotlights several upcoming events, including LVtech’s monthly meetup, the EUREKA! student entrepreneurship competiton, the next LaunchBox Ladies event, the Invent Penn State Venture & IP Conference, and the bi-annual Lehigh Valley Meet the Buyers Expo.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is Skillion, Inc., which has developed the Skillion Ride System, an Internet of Things (IoT) device for remotely monitoring and controlling electronic bicycles (e-bikes).

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
