Peeps & Company Opens New Retail Store at Promenade Shops

If you’ve taken a stroll through the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley recently, you may have noticed a giant yellow fiberglass marshmallow atop a car outside one of the storefronts.
That’s the new home of the Peeps & Company retail store, which celebrated its ribbon-cutting on Wednesday at its new home in Suite 802 at the Upper Saucon Township shopping complex.
Opening just in time for the holiday rush, the store — one of only three operated by Just Born Quality Confections — branded gifts, apparel, merchandise, and candy, including such well-known brands as Peeps, Mike and Ike, Hot Tamales, and Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews.
“We are thrilled to be a part of The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, and enjoyed seeing so many fans and guests at the grand opening festivities,” said David Yale, President and COO of Just Born Quality Confections. “This newest location will allow us to be more accessible to visitors of all ages, and add a fun family-friendly experience to the popular shopping center.”
The store has relocated from The Outlets at Sands in Bethlehem, where it had previously operated since 2012. Company officials said the family-friendly atmosphere of the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley appealed to them and fit perfectly with the Peeps brand.
The Peeps & Company store is located between Stride Rite and The Children’s Place storefronts, and is just across from the Barnes & Noble bookstore.
Wednesday’s celebration included appearances by the Peeps Chick mascot and the Peepsmobile, which was parked outside of the store. It also included discounted deals and giveaways, free Peeps-topped hot chocolate from the neighboring store Crêpe Soleil, and free 5×7 photos of kids meeting the Peeps Chick mascot provided by Dan’s Camera City.
Among those in attendance were Don Cunningham, President and CEO of the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC); Michael Stershic, President of Discover Lehigh Valley; Frank Facchiano, COO of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce; and Upper Saucon Township Supervisor Philip Spaeth.
Other attendees included Makala Ashmar from U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent’s office; Joe Kelly from Pennsylvania Sen. Lisa Boscola’s office; Ellen Kern from Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Browne’s office; and Dustan Raines from Pennsylvania Rep. Justin Simmons’ office.
