The Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) will host the “State of the County” addresses for both Lehigh and Northampton counties in the upcoming months.

Lehigh County Executive Tom Muller will deliver the 2017 State of the County speech on Wednesday, February 22, at the DeSales University Center in Upper Saucon Township.

The following month, on Thursday, March 2, Northampton County Executive John Brown will deliver his 2017 State of the County address at the Grand Ballroom at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem.

Admission is free for both events is free, but pre-registration is required. Please visit here to register for the Lehigh County address, and visit here to register for the Northampton County address. Map and directions for both addresses are also available.

This will mark the fourth State of the County address for both Muller and Brown since their elections in 2013.

During his speech last year, Muller provided an overview of the Lehigh County’s economic outlook, provided a budget update, highlighted major projects, and discussed challenges facing the county moving forward.

In his address last year, Brown explained that Northampton County had moved into a stronger financial position than three years earlier due to spending reductions, cost savings, and improvements in efficiency.

For both 2017 addresses, registration and breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the address starting at 8 a.m. Both should conclude by 9 a.m.

Both of these events are made possible thanks to our presenting sponsor, Gross McGinley:

Sponsorship opportunities remain available for both events. For more information, please contact LVEDC Finance Administrator Stephanie Wean at [email protected] or 610-266-2218.
