New Video, Photos Highlight the Lehigh Valley’s Monumental Transformation

The last two decades have been a time of monumental transformation for the Lehigh Valley.
As Don Cunningham emphasized during the LVEDC Annual Investors Meeting and Awards ceremony, the region has seen a tremendous resurgence over the last 20 years, reinventing itself after the closing of Bethlehem Steel into a diversified and multi-faceted economy with a business base across many different industry sectors, rather than one large anchor industry.
“We have much to work on together in 2015 and beyond, just as we’ve solved problems and grown together during the last 20 years,” said Cunningham, LVEDC President and CEO. “Our charge is to keep it growing, so our kids and grandkids can stay here and thrive here and enjoy life here, while we keep this place as special as it’s always been.”
A new video by Digital Feast, an Allentown-based media company, captures that transformation in a new video that highlights both Cunningham’s remarks, along with cinematic shots of the Lehigh Valley and its three cities: Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton. The video can be seen above or at LVEDC’s YouTube channel.
Additionally, photographer Marco Calderon took photos during the March 18 meeting, which was held at the headquarters of Olympus Corporation of the Americas. Seven LVEDC Awards were presented, including Entrepreneur of the Year, New Business Project of the Year and MVP of the Year.
