New Monthly E-Newsletter Highlights Lehigh Valley Entrepreneurs, Startups
By Colin McEvoy on July 2, 2015

The first issue of LVstartup, a new monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurship and startups in the Lehigh Valley.
There are lots of exciting things going on in the Lehigh Valley entrepreneurial community, and now there’s a new resource available to learn all about them.
The newly-launched LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter written and distributed by the Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley, is focused on the needs of startups in the region, providing information about local events, news, and resources available to entrepreneurs.
“This is just another way LVEDC can help provide entrepreneurs with resources, important skills, and valuable expertise,” said Lea B. Glembot, LVEDC Vice President of Economic Development and Marketing. “We help entrepreneurs refine their business goals, identify their markets, hone your business plans, and locate start-up capital.”
LVstartup will be distributed the first Thursday of each month. If you’re interested in subscribing, sign up here.
The first edition was released on July 2, and included such stories as KitRex founder Lisa Glover bringing a velociraptor to the White House, an Upper Macungie Township startup getting honored by the state, U.S. Rep Charlie Dent visiting four early-state manufacturing companies in Allentown, and about a full-time summer program launching for student entrepreneurs.
It also brought attention to several upcoming events for entrepreneurs, including the start date for the next cohort of Lehigh University’s technical entrepreneurship master’s program, an LCCC workshop about starting or restarting your business, and the upcoming grand opening launch party for Hatch House, a Bethlehem live-work community for young or early-stage entrepreneurs.
Each month, LVstartup will also spotlight a Lehigh Valley startup. For the first issue it was ProCasa, which designs and distributes equipment that helps wineries automate their bottling operations.
The Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley is a council of the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC), whose mission is to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including as the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), Ben Franklin Technology Partners, and others.
