Released just ahead of Pennsylvania Manufacturing Week, the latest issue of LVstartup highlights many of the great things currently happening across the Lehigh Valley’s manufacturing sector.

This month’s edition highlights stories about OraSure Technologies completing an expansion that will help it manufacturing COVID-19 self-tests, Mussel Polymers developing an adhesive that mimics how mussels adhere to surfaces underwater, and LifeAire Systems discussing its air purification technology at a roundtable discussion.

Other stories included a LaunchBox Ladies event about Generation Z’s perspective on entrepreneurship, a partnership between Lehigh University and the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, a Made Possible in Lehigh Valley profile about Slate Belt Rising, and SCORE Lehigh Valley helping regional small businesses and entrepreneurs.

The issue also spotlights upcoming events, including the EUREKA! Venture Program pitch night, a SCORE Lehigh Valley event, the Startup Lehigh Valley Entrepreneur Pitch, and Ben Franklin’s Venture Idol.

Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is Foli-Q, which provides personalized hair care products, including an advanced bioengineered hair testing service.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.

LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
