New LVstartup Released: iXchange, Paintballs, Manufacturing, and More!

A Bethlehem startup that makes throwable paintballs is quadrupling its space, City Center has announced a new entertainment venue for downtown Allentown, the Ben Franklin iXchange keynote speaker will discuss “Disruptive Innovation,” and the growth of manufacturing in the Lehigh Valley is attracting attention from NBC news.
Those are among a few of the stories highlighted in the latest issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter for entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, which is released the first Thursday of each month.

The May 2017 issue features multiple stories from the Lehigh Valley startup scene, including two startup companies graduating from Ben Franklin TechVentures, Lehigh University launching a new partnership to connect tech-savvy alumni, a Bethlehem startup led by college student winning a $110,000 prize, and the Southside Bethlehem KIZ awarding a $15,000 grant to UBME, Inc.
The issue also spotlights several upcoming events, including the 2017 Ben Franklin iXchange, LVEDC’s Conversation & Cocktails event with PA DEP Secretary Patrick McDonnell, a panel discussion about the “Future of Logistics,” the TE Venture Fair at Lehihg University’s Wilbur Powerhouse, and the LaunchBayC Student Accelerator 2017 Demo Day.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is the Sunbound Technology, a leading supplier of high-quality electronic equipment for the LED and semi-conductor industries.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
