New LVstartup Highlights Allentown’s Success Story, Easton Public Market

There’s a lot of good news to report in the latest issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter for entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley.
Downtown Allentown has been declared a national success story by Urban Land Institute; the Easton Public Market attracted 16,000 visitors at its grand opening; and Stitch Fix, an online personal service for women, has opened a Lehigh Valley facility that is expected to create 500 new jobs.

This month’s LVstartup highlights several other stories, including Bethlehem’s OraSure Technologies being ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the 100 Most Trusted Companies in America; an affordable barbecue restaurant opening at the former Schula’s Steakhouse Spot in Allentown; and an Easton Area High School alum winning a contest held by billionaire Richard Branson.
The issue also highlights several upcoming events, including the 2016 Leadercast Greater Lehigh Valley at Cedar Crest College on May 6; the Ben Franklin iXchange at Lehigh University’s Zoellner Arts Center on May 17; the Small Business Administration’s “Boots to Business Reboot” program on May 17-18; and more.
Each month, LVstartup also spotlights a Lehigh Valley startup. This issue, the company is Accelerator CC. Created by the Bethlehem-based TSG Software, it is a focused sales and marketing effort in commercializing software for the building maintenance industry, property and facility managers, and building management contractors.

The Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley is a council of LVEDC, whose mission is to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, and others.
