Municipal Truck Equipment Dealer Hosting Lehigh Valley Grand Opening
By Colin McEvoy on October 25, 2016
A municipal truck equipment dealer and installer will be hosting the grand opening of its new 30,000 square-foot facility in East Allen Township next month.
Trius, Inc., one of the largest suppliers of municipal and contractors’ equipment in the tri-state area, will welcome guests on Nov. 10 to an open house and grand opening ceremony at its new facility at 6475 Ruch Road.
Founded in 1959, Trius Inc. is headquartered in Bohemia, N.Y., but is moving into the Lehigh Valley to expand its geographic footprint. The new facility is expected to create 25 new jobs over the next two to three years.
It will be a homecoming of sorts for Jim McNally, general manager of Trius, Inc., who was born and raised in Easton, graduated from DeSales University, and is currently living in the Nazareth area.
“I’m proud to be back here,” McNally said. “It’s just a very rewarding opportunity for me to be working in this area and putting good people in the Lehigh Valley to work.”
Trius Inc. provides equipment for municipal vehicles, including snow and ice control, truck bodies and equipment, central hydraulic systems, road maintenance, refuse and collection, sewer maintenance, mowers, and aerial devices.
“Pretty much anything that’s on wheels that has to do with the municipal trade, that’s us,” McNally said.
In addition to its municipal business, Trius serves the contractor trade with an extensive line of tailor-made equipment. The company also works with the Pennsylvania Turnpike and the Lehigh Valley-based Mack Trucks, he said.
The grand opening will be held Nov. 10 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will be held in conjunction with a meeting of the Northampton County Public Works Association, McNally said.
Rob Guarino of The Weather Pros, former lead meteorologist for Fox 29 in Philadelphia, will be a featured guest at the event. He will present an eastern Pennsylvania winter weather report at the event.
Anyone interested in attending can R.S.V.P. to Nadine at 484-281-3380 ext. 1403.
