May 2019 Issue of LVstartup E-Newsletter Has Been Released

The May 2019 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about two startups moving into the Pi center in Bethlehem, a quarterly roundup of incubator space in the Lehigh Valley, two female entrepreneurs sharing their journeys and advice, and LVEDC encouraging employers to share their successes in a new marketing campaign.
Other stories include student entrepreneurs pitching their ideas at a Lehigh University event, a specialty formulations company moving to a new Allentown space, the release of the new LVEDC 2018 Annual Report, and U.S. Rep Susan Wild providing a legislative update at a Lehigh Valley event.
The issue also spotlights several upcoming events, including the next LVtech meetup, the bi-annual Lehigh Valley Meet the Buyers Expo, the start of Lehigh University’s Hatchery student idea accelerator program, and the bi-annual Meet the Buyers Expo.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is Almas Foods International, which offers top quality saffron products under the brand name Zaffrus. Saffron is a very rare spice derived from flower prominent in Iran.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
