The May issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

Released on May 2, the issue highlights such news stories as a cybersecurity startup winning the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Business Pitch Summit, the new 12-story Tower 6 office building opening in downtown Allentown, Bethlehem-based OraSure Technologies hiring a new CEO, and an Ilinois-based manufacturer opening a new Forks Township facility.

This issue, the company is Polymer Contours, which provides a wide range of plastic molded injection projects of all sizes thanks to its 200-ton, 115-ton and 88-ton production machines. It is based in the Bridgeworks Enterprise Center in Allentown.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.

LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
