March 2020 Issue of LVStartup Has Been Released

The March 2020 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about Penn State Lehigh Valley students dancing at THON 2020, the new REEDS403 Cowork Lounge opening in Easton, and more than 225,000 votes being cast in this year’s annual “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” student video contest.
Other stories included the newly-announced Made Possible in Lehigh Valley alliance, a study that found ArtsQuest contributes $100 million in social capital to Lehigh Valley, a new startup in the region making field hockey sticks, and Penn State Lehigh Valley breaking ground on an expansion.
The issue also spotlights several upcoming events including the Ben Franklin iXchange 2020, and the U.S. Small Business Administration is hosting Boots to Business Reboot, an entrepreneuership training program for veterans and their spouses.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is Optovibronex, LLC, which is working to market an invention that can detect skin tumors without patients having to undergo invasive biopsies to determine the extent of cancer cells.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
