Made Possible in Lehigh Valley Radio Ads Appearing in Philadelphia, North Jersey
By Colin McEvoy on August 18, 2022
The Made Possible in Lehigh Valley initiative has launched a new advertising campaign with radio stations that will help spread the word about all the great things happening in the Lehigh Valley to markets in Philadelphia and northern New Jersey.
Sponsorship advertisements will run on the popular WXPN station in Philadelphia, as well as its simulcast signal at 91.9 FM in North Jersey, which also can be heard in the Lehigh Valley at 104.9 FM. All summer, Made Possible in Lehigh Valley will sponsor several of the station’s radio shows, including an NPR Music program.
In addition, Made Possible will be running digital advertisements on NPR.org for six weeks starting in September, specifically geo-targeted to users in the Philadelphia and New York metropolitan areas.
“This new advertising campaign will allow us to spread the word about What’s Possible in Lehigh Valley to a large audience in several major markets in the Northeast,” said Karianne Gelinas, Vice President, Regional Partnerships and Talent Strategies. “These ads will help position the Lehigh Valley as an attractive place for professionals, companies, visitors, and families alike.”
The radio advertisements will run through the end of the year and, combined with the digital ads, is expected to draw more than 2 million in total impressions from viewers and listeners, according to WPXN.
“As WXPN continues to develop our listening community in the Lehigh Valley at 104.9 FM, we are thrilled to share the business opportunities and quality of life in the Valley to our audience throughout the regions we serve,” said Nick Bisaccia, Business Support Representative for WXPN in the Lehigh Valley and north Jersey. “As the Made Possible in the Lehigh Valley campaign works to strengthen the community and the workforce of this area, it’s mutually beneficial because of our local signal in the Lehigh Valley. We appreciate and are excited about the collaboration.”
Made Possible in Lehigh Valley is a multi-organizational initiative championed by LVEDC, Discover Lehigh Valley, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors, and others.
In addition to telling stories from around the Lehigh Valley, Made Possible in Lehigh Valley also seeks to enhance talent attraction and retention efforts for our region’s employers, and increase opportunities for professionals within the region to connect with others.
The radio spots will highlight major economic sectors in the Lehigh Valley such as manufacturing, life sciences, and professional business services, as well as some of the Lehigh Valley’s most recognizable companies like Air Products, Crayola, Mack Trucks, and Martin Guitar.
“Made Possible in Lehigh Valley reminds us that while industries evolve, people in the valley are still driven by the same work ethic, and drawn today to careers in the life sciences,” says one of the ads. “Lehigh Valley is home to global brands like Olympus and B. Braun Medical; companies focused on innovation and people focused on life on their terms.”

The Made Possible ads will appear on programs as Rhythm Lab Radio, Cypher Culture Radio, and NPR Music’s Throw Back Thursdays, as well as 90’s at 9 music programming across all markets and spots during the Christmas holidays.
This is not the first time Made Possible in Lehigh Valley advertisements have made their way into the airwaves.
The initiative recently entered into a partnership with the Lehigh Valley with Love podcast, the area’s premiere podcast bringing the best in local and regional stories about the incredible people, places, and organizations in the Lehigh Valley.
This podcast has had more than 4 million downloads since 2019, and has a monthly reach of more than 500,000 listeners. It can be found on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, RSS, PocketCasts, Stitcher, and elsewhere.
“Podcasts are a fantastic way to capture stories since the audience is able to listen to them on their own time and terms and device,” said George Wacker, co-founder of Lehigh Valley with Love, and host of the podcast. “We’ve been able to go into the community more as well, recording podcasts on location with a guest or just out in the community at a local restaurant or coffee shop.”
