LVstartup’s First Issue of 2019 Has Been Released

The January 2019 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights such stories as Ben Franklin Technology Partners growing Pennsylvania’s economy by $4.1 billion, LVEDC looking back on 2018’s economic development success stories, seven Bethlehem startups receiving Keystone Innovation Zone tax credits.
Other stories include OraSure Technologies purchasing two companies, Innovative Control Systems expanding in the Lehigh Valley, and an overview of the manufacturing and retail job outlook from the Allentown Economic Development Corporation.
The issue also spotlights several upcoming events, including LehighSiliconValley 2019, LVtech’s monthly meetup, 1 Million Cups, the Entrepreneur Networking & Business Expo, the TEDxLehighRiver Conference, the EUREKA! Ventures Competition, and LVEDC’s 2019 Annual Meeting.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is TRuCapSol (Time Release Capsule Solutions), a microencapsulation company that manufactures biodegradable capsules used in consumer and nutritional products.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
