LVHackathon 2013 set for April 5th through April 7th
By LVEDC Staff on April 2, 2013
Lehigh Valley Hackathon 2013 is a three-day event focused on taking existing technology and applying it in unique and creative ways. The event is an important investment in building the technology community in the Lehigh Valley. Not only does it encourage combining technology in new ways, it also provides for creative partnerships across the community. This year’s Hackathon will take place at Northampton Community College’s Southside Campus, which includes access to the FabLab. The organizers are expecting a mix of software and hardware projects, reflecting the unique history of the Lehigh Valley.
“Groups like Lehigh Valley Tech play a critical role in the development of our region’s innovation economy,” noted Matthew Tuerk, LVEDC director of research and development. “By hosting events such as the 2013 Lehigh Valley Hackathon, they help put our economy on the map for the most exciting creative talent in the region. LVEDC has a commitment to strengthening the Lehigh Valley’s start-up communities, and supporting events like this help us achieve that goal.”
