LVEDC’s Home for the Holidays Campaign Includes Unique Airport Display

A lot of people will be visiting Lehigh Valley for the holidays this month, and the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) is making sure they know everything this region has to offer.

As part of the Made Possible in Lehigh Valley initiative, LVEDC has launched a Home for the Holidays campaign, with digital billboards, a presence at Christkindlmarkt, and a unique, interactive living room display in the middle of the Lehigh Valley International Airport (LVIA).

As travelers pass through the LVIA terminal, they will find an area with a couch, chairs, and holiday decorations, welcoming them to take a seat and relax, hear stories and testimonials about why Lehigh Valley is a great place to live, work, and play.

“Our goal was to create a memorable and positive experience for travelers during an often stressful activity and stressful time of the year,” said Michael Keller, LVEDC Director of Marketing.

“The messaging in and around the space drives home specific reasons someone might choose to stay in Lehigh Valley, such as the quality of life, being closer to their families, or the work/life balance that this region offers professionals,” Keller said.

The Made Possible in Lehigh Valley campaign seeks to increase outside awareness of the positive attributes Lehigh Valley has to offer, develop a positive image of the region, and market it as an attractive place to drive talent acquisition and retention.

The Home for the Holidays campaign will let visitors to the region know Lehigh Valley is a place where you can have a job you love and a home you can afford, as well as world-class health care, outstanding education, outdoor activities, a vibrant arts scene, and great restaurants.

In addition to the LVIA display, LVEDC partnered with Adams Outdoor Advertising on a series of digital billboards and advertisements with beautiful Lehigh Valley winter photography, displaying such messages as “Home for the holidays, stay for the quality of life” and “Home for the holidays, stay for the people you meet.” The billboards can be seen on Route 22.

LVEDC will also be sharing those messages at Christkindlmarkt, a one-of-a-kind Lehigh Valley family event in Bethlehem. Twice recognized by Travel + Leisure as one of the nation’s best holiday markets, it includes handmade artisan works, live holiday music, ice carving and glass-blowing demonstrations, and more.

The new Lehigh Valley Relocation Guide will be distributed at Christkindlmarkt. LVEDC and Discover Lehigh Valley partnered on the guide, an eight-page booklet for newcomers to the region or those who are curious to learn more about what makes Lehigh Valley such a special place.

The Home for the Holidays campaign is the latest in a series of timely marketing efforts associated with Made Possible in Lehigh Valley. Other similar past campaigns during the back to school season, as well as one during Musikfest called “Stay for the Encore.”
