LVEDC to Host Fall Signature Event at Mack Trucks
By Colin McEvoy on November 3, 2015
Please join us as the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) hosts its inaugural Fall Signature Event: “Mack Trucks in the Lehigh Valley and in the World.”
During this Nov. 11 luncheon event, LVEDC will discuss the importance of manufacturing, one of the four targeted industries of the Lehigh Valley, while also spotlighting Mack Trucks, one of the region’s largest manufacturers and employers.
“In terms of economic output, manufacturing is a major growth sector for the Lehigh Valley, one that outpaces virtually every other region in the state,” said Don Cunningham, LVEDC President and CEO. “Auto and steel manufacturing are still very much alive the Lehigh Valley, and there is no better example of that than Mack Trucks, which each year makes tens of thousands of the trucks in their Macungie facility.”
The event will be held at the Mack Trucks facility at 2402 Lehigh Parkway South, Allentown. Registration and Mack Museum tours will run from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by a lunch and program from 12 noon to 1 p.m.
Attendance is free, but registration is required. Please visit this Eventbrite site to RSVP by Nov. 6.
Speakers will include Cunningham and Mack Tucks Vice President and General Manager Wade Watson.
Founded in 1900, Mack trucks is one of North America’s largest manufacturers of heavy-duty Class 8 trucks, engines, and transmissions. Every Mack truck built for the North American market is assembled at its Cab & Vehicle Assembly facility in Macungie.
