LVEDC Talent Supply Update: Steps Employers Must Take

Each week, Karianne Gelinas, Director of Talent Supply with the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC), will provide an update and additional information about its ongoing initiative to identify talent supply and demand issues in the region and create a strategy that results in a broader, ongoing understanding of the Lehigh Valley workforce. The LVEDC talent supply study is currently underway, with the goal to increase knowledge about talent supply and demand in the Lehigh Valley among employers, educators, and regional workforce and economic development providers.
In that same vein, Guardian Life Insurance Company of America previously released a study entitled “The Next Generation of Work,” which looked at how American employers can prepare for how the “automation revolution” is transforming American jobs and future skill requirements.
That study included four steps employers must take to prepare for the workplace of tomorrow. Those steps can be found below:
