Each week, Karianne Gelinas, Director of Talent Supply with the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC), will provide an update and additional information about its ongoing initiative to identify talent supply and demand issues in the region and create a strategy that results in a broader, ongoing understanding of the Lehigh Valley workforce. Our talent supply study began in earnest last week, with the start of telephone and email surveys with businesses within targeted industry clusters, and interviews with stakeholders such as education and training institutions, workforce development organizations, and sector/professional associations.

Last week, we told you about the key target sectors our talent supply initiative is focused upon, based in part on the economic forecast in those sectors and the local workforce skills/talent gap.

This week, I’d like to share with you a breakdown of the Lehigh Valley employment numbers within each of those sectors. They can be found below:
