LVEDC Talent Supply: Intention to Hire Over Next 12 Months by Sector

Each week, Karianne Gelinas, Director of Talent Supply with the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC), will provide an update or additional information from its ongoing initiative to identify talent supply and demand issues in the region and create a strategy that results in a broader, ongoing understanding of the Lehigh Valley workforce. Growing regional economies are hiring, and the Lehigh Valley counts itself as one.
For the talent study, we wanted to ensure that we were surveying employers who were engaged in hiring and recruiting and for whom talent was a priority.
We found that the majority of employers (89 percent) across the five target sectors (Healthcare; Transportation, Warehousing, & Logistics; Life Science Research & Manufacturing; High-Value Business Services, and Manufacturing) are growing.
The graph below shows the number of employees each target sector intends to hire with 75 percent or more employers in each sector.
