Among the stories highlighted in the most recent issue were Lehigh Valley startups attending the International Toy Fair in New York City, and a Bethlehem-based cosmetics company winning the Entrepreneurial Achievement award at the Ben Franklin iXchange.
The newsletter also discussed a new event-planning app setting up shop at Ben Franklin TechVentures, the winners being announced in the “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” student video contest, and preconstruction work starting on the STRATA II luxury apartments in Allentown.
The new issue also highlights various upcoming events, like a March 22 mobile marketing seminar at Ben Franklin TechVentures, Lehigh University hosting a March 29 open house at its Technical Entrepreneurship Master’s Degree program, and the Lehigh Valley’s first Hackathon in April.
Each month, LVstartup also spotlights a Lehigh Valley startup. This issue, the company is Zzyzx Polymers, which is developing a first-of-its-kind manufacturing facility to produce high-value recycled plastics and specialty plastics using a patented process called shear compatibilized extrusion.
