Among the stories highlighted in the new issue are the Bridgeworks Enterprise Center reaching new heights in 2015, seven companies from within the Southside Bethlehem KIZ receiving $403,016 in funding, and the Small Business Administration launching new programs to help lenders and small business owners connect with each other.

LVstartup also spotlights a new program called Retail Mosaic, which gives entrepreneurs looking to grow in downtown Allentown the chance to win up to $15,000. Additionally, the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) has released new videos marketing six Lehigh Valley sub-regions: Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Lehigh County, Northampton County, and the Slate Belt.

The newsletter also links to several stories noteworthy for regional startups. The Morning Call recently reported that, from throwable paintballs to organic food home delivery, Lehigh Valley entrepreneurs are breaking free of their inhibitions and starting wide varieties of new businesses. And LVEDC President and CEO Don Cunningham’s new column explains why the Lehigh Valley is a small business economy, and why that’s an extremely good thing for the region.

LVstartup also highlighted several upcoming events, including two seminars from Lehigh University’s Small Business Development Center about starting your own business; a Small Business Administration workshop teaching what it takes to have a successful startup; and the upcoming Ben Franklin iXchange, which will feature keynote speaker Byron Reese, author of Infinite Progress.

Each month, LVstartup also spotlights a Lehigh Valley startup. This issue, the company is Organics Live, a Bethlehem-based business that delivers 100 percent certified organic food and sundry items to homes and businesses.
