Position Title: Research Specialist
Job Purpose: Provide economic statistics and original research to LVEDC stakeholders
Reports to: VP of Economic Development
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Job Responsibilities: Provide information about the Lehigh Valley’s economy to LVEDC stakeholders—internal and external—by drawing from existing sources of economic data as well as developing original research.
Essential Functions:
- Support Economic Development Attraction team’s efforts to bring new companies to the region by responding to requests for information
- Assist Business Outreach Program’s efforts to help Lehigh Valley companies grow by providing information about Lehigh Valley’s economy and companies
- Provide original information to LVEDC marketing team for use in communicating the region’s economic assets to internal and external audiences
- Monitor various news sources for information that may be used for any of LVEDC’s attraction, retention and start up support activities
Competencies and Requirements:
- Fundamental understanding of available sources of economic data at the federal, local and private level
- Basic understanding of statistical modeling methods, and descriptive statistics, as well as economics and econometric modeling

Position Title: Information Systems Specialist
Job Purpose: Manage organizational information systems
Reports to: VP of Administration
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Job Responsibilities: Maintain the information systems for a nonprofit, regional economic development organization with a staff of 20. Duties include defining organizational needs, collecting internal information, assisting with the analysis of process measurements, developing improvements, and creating controls to ensure sustainability.
Essential Functions:
- Manage LVEDC’s physical files, including projects, accounting records and corporate records
- Manage and continuously improve reporting systems on business processes related to the organization’s operations, including dashboards and internal reporting
- Manage information technology systems, including hardware, software, networks, and databases.
- LVEDC file server, print server, and domain controller software and structure (Assisted by Managed Services Provider
- LVEDC CRMs (Salesforce.com and Executive Pulse)
- LVEDC Accounting Software (Quickbooks)
- LVEDC Communications Software (Microsoft 365)
- Lehighvalley.org (WordPress)
- Assist with the evaluation and purchase of technology to support organizational operations
Competencies and Requirements:
- Fundamental understanding of information systems and relational databases, including salesforce.com and Quickbooks
- Basic understanding of Microsoft’s OS’s, including 2012 Server and Windows 7
