LVEDC discusses economic development in Northampton County
By LVEDC Staff on September 10, 2013
The upper management of Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation addressed Northampton County’s Economic Development Committee on September 5th.
President and CEO Don Cunningham led the charge with an update on LVEDC, its mission to promote all of Lehigh Valley, and its continued efforts to be a transparent and proactive organization.
John McGran, vice president of marketing, followed with a slideshow look at the many initiatives underway to showcase Lehigh Valley, as well as the programs offered by LVEDC. Efforts include marketing collateral presentations on Lehigh Valley, Slate Belt, Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton; newly updated brochures and booklets on finance department loan programs and LVEDC investor opportunities; and a video series featuring 10 successful Lehigh Valley companies.
Jarrett Witt, who was recently appointed vice president of economic development, then took to the podium to discuss the many projects that involve Northampton County – and his ongoing discussions with foreign firms looking to possibly locate there. Witt’s slide presentation delved deep into the nuts and bolts of what attracts businesses to Northampton County.
John Kingsley, vice president of economic development finance, spoke on the many local, state and federal loan programs that are available for businesses seeking to expand or replace core equipment. He listed a number of Northampton County businesses that have worked – or are working – with LVEDC.
Matt Tuerk, LVEDC’s vice president of administration and investor relations, was on hand to field questions, but did not speak to the committee.
