A map of the 41 major attraction or expansion projects tracked by LVEDC in the organization’s 2020 Annual Report, which is available online in digital format.
Despite restrictions and challenges created by the coronavirus pandemic, the Lehigh Valley saw continued progress when it came to economic development, with dozens of new regional projects and expansions taking place across the map.
Don’t believe us? We’ve made an actual map.
A map and table highlighting the 41 major development or expansion projects tracked by the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) was featured in the organization’s new 2020 Annual Report, which was released last month.
The full 36-page report can be viewed below or downloaded in PDF form here.
The map pinpoints the exact locations of these projects, which are spread across various locations in Lehigh and Northampton counties. The table and report pages provided additional details and individual descriptions about these projects as well.
In total, the 41 projects created or retained more than 6,000 jobs in 2020. They come from a variety of sectors, from advanced manufacturing to life sciences to ecommerce, reflecting how diversity of the Lehigh Valley economy has helped the region endure the COVID-19 crisis.

The first page of a two-page table in the LVEDC 2020 Annual Report detailing the 41 projects tracked by the organization from throughout the year.
“Pandemic or not, the growth continued,” Cunningham said at the LVEDC 2021 Annual Meeting last month. “Economic development activity, particularly in the industrial and manufacturing arena, has not stopped. We remain a leading attractive market competitive on a national level against much larger metropolitan areas.”
The 2020 projects came from such companies as Allegiant Air, A.P. Deauville, Bowery Farming, Flexicon, Forward Air, Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hecktown Oaks, OraSure Technologies, Sharp, Suncup Juice, TSW Alloy Wheels, U.S. Specialty Formulations, and more.
In addition to the map and table, the LVEDC 2020 Annual Report details the economic effect the COVID-19 pandemic had upon the Lehigh Valley, and how the region’s businesses and community responded to the crisis.
It also highlights the region’s record-high gross domestic product of $43.3 billion in 2019, and the fact that the Lehigh Valley has once again ranked among the Top 5 regions in the Northeast in terms of economic development projects completed.
Other highlights of the report include the marketing campaign Made Possible in Lehigh Valley, LVEDC’s talent supply initiative, and the organization’s video interview series with 11 new corporate executives in the Lehigh Valley.
The report also includes information about virtual events LVEDC hosted throughout the year, the organization’s brownfields redevelopment efforts, external news coverage the regional economy received in 2020, and a three-page year-end Commercial Real Estate Report.
The LVEDC 2020 Annual Report was designed by Michelle Chrin, who has designed the organization’s annual report for the last five years, as well as its Commercial Real Estate Reports, Investment Opportunities brochure, Board Directory, and other marketing materials.
For the last three consecutive years, LVEDC Annual Report has won an International Economic Development Council Excellence in Economic Development award for Best Annual Report (Population Greater Than 500,000).
