Interesting stories of people who have followed their career aspirations to the Lehigh Valley will be the focus of a conversational presentation that will be a highlight of the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp. (LVEDC) 2023 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 21, at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.

The ability to attract and retain talent has become the primary driver of economic development. Employers are looking for growing communities that provide access to the skilled workforce they need to be successful.

The talent conversation at LVEDC’s Annual Meeting will spotlight personal stories of four individuals who followed various paths to life and work in the Lehigh Valley. They include:

• A graduate of the region’s career and technical education system
• An entrepreneur pursing a personal passion for life sciences
• A recent graduate who came hundreds of miles to the Lehigh Valley for college and found a home
• And a manufacturing manager who recently relocated from another country when her employer chose the Lehigh Valley for its first U.S. production facility.

Kassie Hilgert, President and CEO of ArtsQuest and LVEDC Board member, will lead this wide-ranging discussion exploring the many facets of talent attraction and retention in the Lehigh Valley.
