The Lehigh Valley’s premier international conference is coming back.
Lehigh University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is once again hosting “Bringing the World to You,” which allows participating companies to meet with international trade representatives one-on-one and discuss important issues facing the global economy.
The event, which is co-sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC), will be held Monday, Sept. 11, at the Ben Franklin TechVentures at 116 Research Drive in Bethlehem.
“This is a great opportunity for any business, large or small, to increase their international reach,” said Cora Landis, SBDC international trade program director. “Meeting one-on-one with the overseas trade reps, attending the workshops and joining the breakfast and luncheon presentations – there is something for everyone.”
Entry cost is $50 per person. To receive your registration form, contact cll@lehigh.edu or call 610-758-3980. See this flier for more information.
Attendees will have the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings at breakout tables with international trade representatives to discuss economic development opportunities overseas and participate in workshops focused on a global economic outlook.
Trade representatives will be available from Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Germany, India, Indonesia, Israel and the Middle East Region, Mexico, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
The representatives will be able to assist Lehigh Valley companies on a wide range of topics, including determining the marketability of a product, agent/distributor search, identifying and supporting relevant trade events, reviewing marketing materials, and more.
LVEDC President and CEO Don Cunningham will be a featured speaker, discussing the regional economy and international investment in the Lehigh Valley. Frank Gunter, an economics professor at Lehigh University’s College of Business and Economics, will also speak.
Workshop topics include “Ethical Issues in International Business Expansion,” “Financing your International Business” and “Getting your Products from Here to There,” according to the SBDC.
The Lehigh University SBDC is a member of the Pennsylvania Network of Small Business Development Center, whose mission is to provide entrpreneurs and small business owners with the knowledge needed to make smart decisions and prosper.
Lehigh University’s SBDC has served small businesses in Lehigh, Northampton, Bucks, and Montgomery counties since 1978. It annually consults with over 1000 small businesses and provides free consulting to businesses in all stages of development, from pre-venture to mature.
In addition to LVEDC and SBDC, the event will be sponsored by AGEX Financial, Centric Bank, Fitzpatrick Lentz and Bubba, Lehigh Export Network, and the World Trade Club of the Lehigh Valley.
