Lehigh Valley will be featured in Delta Air Lines in-flight magazine in December, showcasing the region in a special feature section that will be seen by more than 6 million readers.
The region will be featured in a special 26-page section of the December 2019 issue of Delta Sky, which will be on board the airline’s 15,000 daily flights during one of the busiest travel months of the year.
Marsha Hedlund, Profile Publisher with Delta Sky, said she expects readers to engage with Lehigh Valley in a whole new way and see that it is a great place to live, work, learn, visit, and invest.
“Some markets touch us and stay with us more than others. Lehigh Valley is just such a story – one of renewal and growth,” Hedlund said.
“You’ve shown other regions how community engagement, solidarity and innovation can grow and rebuild an already great region,” she said. “The community stepped up in a big way for our story and some amazing people came forward to share the best of the Lehigh Valley with us. We’re honored to share your region with Sky’s global audience.”
The magazine and profile will be unveiled at a launch party at the Lehigh Valley International Airport on Dec. 3, which will be hosted by the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC), Discover Lehigh Valley, and Lehigh Valley International Airport.
LVEDC and Discover Lehigh Valley have been working with Delta on the development of the feature, which is an excellent platform for the recently-launched Made Possible in Lehigh Valley. That initiative seeks to share the success stories of the people and companies in our region and market the Lehigh Valley as an attractive location for businesses and talent.
“This is an enormous marketing opportunity for the region and its business community and a great example of what’s made possible in Lehigh Valley,” said Don Cunningham, President & CEO of LVEDC.
“Delta Sky magazine representatives will be reaching out to leaders for input and support. While there is no obligation to participate, we hope that our business community, educational institutions, and the tourism industry will take a close look and determine the level of involvement that makes the most of this opportunity.”
Lehigh Valley was previously featured in a similar way by American Airlines. The region was the focus of a 24-page feature in American Way, the airline’s in-flight magazine. A PDF of that feature, called Spotlight Lehigh Valley, can be viewed here.
As part of the Delta Sky feature, Delta staff editors and writers conducted research on Lehigh Valley and wrote editorial content highlighting the region’s economic vitality, livability, and the people making things happen within the region.
“We fully expect Delta Sky to showcase why Lehigh Valley is the best place to work, live, build a business, and visit,” Cunningham said. “This feature will share the very best of Lehigh Valley with a sophisticated global audience.”
