The Lehigh Valley region made the cut in Money magazine’s list of the “50 Best Places for New College Graduates.”
The magazine looked at which cities provide the best combination of affordable rental properties and the type of jobs that typically employ new college graduates.
“The researchers note that there are some ‘sweet spots’ that offer the best of both worlds,” according to the story by Taylor Tepper, which is based on data gathered by real estate site Trulia and careers site Indeed.
The Lehigh Valley ranked 42nd on the list. It was ranked in order of median monthly income, which was $2,111 for the region. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh were the only other Pennsylvania cities to make the list.
Money notes that 13.7 percent of real estate listings are affordable for recent college graduates in the Lehigh Valley, and 14.5 percent of the job postings in the region are graduate-friendly.
