By Colin McEvoy on February 4, 2016

The newest issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about the Lehigh Valley entrepreneurial scene, has been released.
A 23-year-old Lehigh University graduate has started her own company making “throwable paintballs.” An Allentown-based microbrewer has launched can sales. Local college students will have the opportunity to be connected with 140 potential employers.
Those are among just a few of the news stories leading the latest edition of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter written and distributed by the Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley.

Released the first Thursday of each month, LVstartup is focused on the needs of startups in the region, providing information about local events, news, and resources available to entrepreneurs.
The newest issue, released today, included several stories, including a profile about the Lehigh Valley LaunchBox announcing its first round of grants for entrepreneurs, LVEDC launching a new video highlighting the Lehigh Valley’s life sciences sector, and an Allentown business incubator recruiting a former Air Products official as its first Entrepreneur-in-Residence.
The new issue also highlights various upcoming events, like the DeSales University event “Overcoming Fears in the Workplace,” the LVTech TechTalk “Big Data, Hadoop, and All That,” the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Career Expo, and the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Manufacturing Council Summit IX.
Each month, LVstartup also spotlights a Lehigh Valley startup. This issue, the company is Valor Connect, which has created a professional networking app that allows users to find a job, client, new hire, or even your future company’s next co-founder. The free app boasts an intelligent professional compatibility algorithm that serves you custom matches based on common interests. The user simply swipes to connect.
