Lehigh Valley Cosmetics Company Tops Fastest Growing Companies List Again
By Colin McEvoy on October 27, 2016
For the second year in a row, the Northampton County-based cosmetics company Rea.deeming Beauty Inc. topped the list of the Lehigh Valley Business’ (LVB) Fastest Growing Companies.
Forty-five businesses were honored at the fifth annual event, which was held at DeSales University in Upper Saucon Township. The Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) was the premier sponsor for the event.
During opening remarks, LVEDC Vice President of Economic Development and Marketing Matthew Tuerk noted that the Lehigh Valley gross domestic product has reached a record-high $37 billion, and that small businesses like those honored at this event have contributed to that.
“I’d like to thank each of you for your investment in the region,” Tuerk said. “Much like the companies being recognized here today, the Lehigh Valley has continued to experience a steady pattern of growth over the last several years.”
Based in Hanover Township, Rea.deeming Beauty is the creator and manufacturing of the award-winning beautyblender makeup sponge applicator. With 100 employees, the company is continually expanding its line of makeup tools with the addition of new and innovative products, according to LVB Publisher Mike O’Rourke.
“To set itself apart from the competition, the company focuses on educating both its consumers and retail partners through social media,” O’Rourke said. “According Rea.deeming Beauty, the secret to building a successful business is to stay true to your original concept and have the patience to let it grow over time.”
Catherine Bailey, president and COO of Rea.Deeming Beauty, added: “We’re very honored and proud to receive this award two years in a row. It’s only possible through the efforts of our dedicated, energized team of employees.”
DLP Realty and Customers Bank were second and third on the list, respectively. Customers Bank placed second in last year’s list, while DLP Realty – which is headquartered in Bethlehem – is a new addition this year.
Applicants were required to supply three years of revenue information, demonstrate revenue of at least $500,000 in two out of the three fiscal years, and show increasing revenue in 2015 compared to 2013, according to LVB.
The company with the largest dollar growth received the highest ranking, with the other companies following. Rankings were then assigned for the percentage of growth from year one to year three. The company with the highest percentage growth was assigned the highest ranking.
“We are excited to have several new companies in this year’s program as a testament to the growth happening in the Greater Lehigh Valley,” O’Rourke said.
