The latest issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, was released today.

It includes such stories as the creators of a proximity-based networking smartphone apps moving into a Bethlehem business incubator, as well as  a story about the 2017 iXchange event and its “Revolt Against Routine” theme.”

Other featured stories include an engineering firm joining an Allentown business incubation program, a software developer acquiring a new company, and the accounting firm Concannon Miller releasing a new “Business Guide for Growth.”

The issue also spotlights several upcoming events, including an entrepreneurial training program for veterans, an LVtech meetup about Big Data, Lehigh University’s TE Venture Fair, and the LaunchBayC Student Accelerator’s 2017 Demo Day.

Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is Mezzimatic, a Bethlehem-based toy company that creates a throwable paintballs product called Goblies.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.

LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
