July Issue of Monthly LVstartup E-Newsletter Released

The Lehigh Valley will be featured in the American Airlines in-flight magazine. Bethlehem’s SteelStacks campus beat major competition to win a national award for urban excellence. And, for the fourth straight year, the Lehigh Valley has ranked highest among Pennsylvania regions for post-recession job growth.
Those are among a few of the stories highlighted in the latest issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter for entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, which is released the first Thursday of each month.

The July 2017 issue features multiple stories from the Lehigh Valley startup scene, including a roundup of business incubator space available in the region, Lehigh University students displaying their products at the Technical Entrepreneurship Venture Fair, and the Lehigh Valley making Money magazine’s “50 Best Places for New College Graduates.”
The issue also spotlights several upcoming events, including the LaunchBayC Student Accelerator’s 2017 Demo Day, LVtech hosting a “Family Field Trip” to the MakeLV makerspace in Allentown, and the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association (PEDA) holding its 2017 Fall Conference at the Renaissance Allentown Hotel.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is UBMe, a Bethlehem-based company that makes a free proximity-based networking app that allows users to connect with other people using the app.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
