The January 2023 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about Mishka Vodka being featured by the Philadelphia 76ers, manufacturing becoming the largest part of the Lehigh Valley economy, and Bethleehm projects receiving Enterprize Zone Tax Credits.

Other stories included the Lehigh Valley's talent initaitive receiving national recognition, a new Lehigh University scholarship program, office space available at the Bridgeworks Enterprise Center, and Penn State Lehigh Valley using research to solve real-world problems for companies.

Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is FIA NYC, which began as a startup and is now an award-winning, 100% minority-owned business providing staffing services to clients across the nation.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.

LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic DevelopmentBen Franklin Technology PartnersPenn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
