January 2022 Issue of LVStartup Has Been Released

The January 2022 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about Made Possible in Lehigh Valley’s profile of Netizen President & CEO Michael Hawkins, Bethlehem-based FLX Solutions making a prestigious “most fundable companies” list, and new data showing that people working and living in the Lehigh Valley is on the rise.
Other stories include Lehigh Valley’s manufacturing sector cracking the Top 50 in the United States in terms of GDP, a LaunchBox Ladies event featuring sister entrepreneurs, and Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/NEP) investing $495,000 in 11 companies.
The issue also spotlights upcoming events, including the Ben Franklin iXchange! Registration will be open by early March on the BFTP/NEP website.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is Thread Bioscience, whose new diagnostic test CultureStat detects urinary tract infections more quickly, accurately, and at a lower cost than current testing methods.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
