January 2021 Issue of LVStartup Has Been Released

The January 2021 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about OraSure Technologies’ over-the-counter COVID-19 testing device, USSF expanding to accommodate its work on a vaccine, and LifeAire Systems being featured in the state’s Innovating to Recovery series.
Other stories include Lehigh Valley making a New York Times list of “Favorite Facts of 2020,” Nazareth Pallet seeing a rise in activity due to the pandemic, UBMe releasing a new system for online restaurant orders, and Bowery Farming expanding its operations in the Lehigh Valley.
The issue also spotlights upcoming events, including the LVTech monthly meetup, an information session about the Global Entrepreneurial Fellowship, the monthly EUREKA! Pitch Competition, and an information session about Lehigh University’s Hatchery program.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is TRuCapSol, a microencapsulation company that manufactures biodegradable capsules used in consumer and nutritional products.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
