Lately, it seems as if there’s been a conveyor belt of news coverage on Lehigh Valley. Our companies and economic development partners have caught the eye of reporters and publications within Pennsylvania and across the nation.
Here are two of the latest and greatest features.
Business incubators continue to gain more stature in economic development for their ability to offer space and support for up-and-coming ventures. Here in the Lehigh Valley many in the business community are aware of the Bridgeworks Enterprise Center, which is under the direction of the Allentown Economic Development Corporation.
For the last 25 years Bridgeworks has been cultivating Lehigh Valley companies and this article by Keystone Edge shines a light on the work that has been happening at the former Mack Trucks facility and a sidebar on what could best be described as an interesting roof.
And while most of us in the Lehigh Valley know just how sweet of a business model Just Born Candies has, more people outside the region are learning about the company as well.
A cover story in the February 2014 edition of Candy Industry magazine showcases some of the recent changes that have transpired at the company. These include a new cooking system for the marshmallow side of the business, which spans two floors of the manufacturing facility in Bethlehem.
The article also provides updates on Just Born’s iconic brands, including Peeps and the company’s hot-selling Mike and Ike line of candies.
