The new year’s first issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about Lehigh Valley being one of the best markets for millennial homebuyers, the regional GDP reaching a record-high $41.2 billion, and the Bethlehem startup FLX Solutions winning at the 2019 Startup Grind Princeton competition.

Other stories included the newly-released Lehigh Valley Hot Careers guide, a unique Home for the Holidays display at the Lehigh Valley International Airport, and the Southside Bethlehem KIZ awarding $80,000 in funding to early-stage startup companies in 2019.

The issue also spotlights several upcoming events including a free community session about coding, LVtech hosting its monthly meetup, and the application deadline for the EUREKA! student entrepreneurship competition.

Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is Aeria Pro, which makes Tiger Fins, a professional window cleaning brush accessory with a simple, universal design.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.

LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic DevelopmentBen Franklin Technology PartnersPenn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
