Discover Lehigh Valley Video Series Highlights Region’s Travel Experience
By Colin McEvoy on July 26, 2017
There’s a lot to experience when you visit the Lehigh Valley. That’s why a new series of videos by Discover Lehigh Valley highlights different attributes of the regional travel experience and showcases the passion and craftsmanship of the region.
The four videos spotlight “The Arts” at the Banana Factory Arts Center of Bethlehem; “Family Fun” at the Crayola Experience of Easton; “Distilling” at Eight Oaks Craft Distillers of Lynn Township; and “Craftsmanship” at C.F. Martin & Co. of Nazareth.
“We wanted to capture the passion exuded by the cities of Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton, and the craftsmen and businesses in the surrounding areas as well, and share that feeling to help draw in new visitors to the region,” said Alicia Quinn, Discover Lehigh Valley strategic brand manager.
“This Lift Your Spirits video campaign builds on our already strong marketing theme and inspires visitors to connect with not only the attractions in Lehigh Valley, but also the people and intriguing stories behind them,” Quinn said. “We are inviting viewers to fall in love with the region.”

Discover Lehigh Valley, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting tourism to Lehigh and Northampton counties, first unveiled the videos at their 7th Annual Tourism Marketing Day, held last month at Cedar Crest College in Allentown.
“In 1839, my family came to the Lehigh Valley, and we’ve never left,” C.F. Martin & Co. Chairman and CEO Chris Martin IV said in his video. “… Even if you don’t play the guitar you should come and take the tour because, just coming and seeing a Martin guitar being made in the Lehigh Valley, it’s a pretty special thing.”
More videos are planned for the series, including some that focus on the history of the region, as well as sports and recreation, Quinn said.
The videos are being used as a part of a Discover Lehigh Valley digital media campaign, which includes in-stream video advertisements and paid social media promotions targeting online users along the Mid-Atlantic.
Discover Lehigh Valley President Michael Stershic said the campaign will help further Lehigh Valley’s tourism efforts, which currently generates approximately $400 million in federal, state, and local taxes, and employs nearly 23,000 people.
“Lehigh Valley is home to some truly inspiring people and businesses,” Stershic said. “Our partners are proud to live and work here, and we are thrilled to highlight several of these partners to help grow tourism in the area. We look forward to continuing these promotional efforts in future campaigns.”
More than than 115 marketing and sales professionals from the Lehigh Valley’s top area attractions, restaurants, and businesses attended the 7th Annual Tourism Day, where they discussed the current state of tourism in region and learned the latest industry marketing trends.
