The December 2021 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about the 18th Annual Venture Idol, FLX Solutions ranking among the “Most Fundable Companies of 2021,” newly-released Lehigh Valley Internship directories and toolkits, and a Lehigh Valley entrepreneur being honored with an international award for his work in the life sciences.

Other stories include Penn State officials showcasing Invest Penn State to lawmakers, the FDA authorizing OraSure’s COVID-19 rapid tests, Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania investing $209,800 in regional development, and the Lehigh Valley LaunchBox hiring Justin Kresge as its new manager.

The issue also spotlights upcoming events, including an open house about Lehigh University’s technical entrepreneurship master’s degree, and LVtech’s monthly meetup event.

Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is Mussel Polymers, which develops effective adhesive solutions for the most challenging applications.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.

LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
