December 2020 Issue of LVStartup Has Been Released

The December 2020 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about entrepreneurs participating in Startup Lehigh Valley, Thread BioScience winning the Ben Franklin Venture Idol, the recovering Lehigh Valley economy, and the latest from the Made Possible in Lehigh Valley initiative.
Other stories include Discover Lehigh Valley highlighting the year’s accomplishments, UBMe launching a new online ordering product, the Bridgeworks co-working space celebrating its fifth anniversary, and local entrepreneurs discussing the COVID-19 crisis.
The issue also spotlights upcoming events, including the LVTech monthly meetup, and the National Museum of Industrial History’s “Meet the Manufacturer” event featuring Dr. Stephen S. Tang, President & CEO of OraSure Technologies.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is Ophidion, Inc., a private biotechnology company with a platform technology that uses a Trojan horse strategy to exploit an endogenous receptor-mediated transport system to deliver small molecule drugs and biologics into the brain.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
