DCED, LVEDC Bring Foreign Direct Investment Team to Lehigh Valley

The PA Office of International Business Development’s Center for Direct Investment (CDI) and its network of 11 Investment contractors will be visiting the Lehigh Valley today, June 19th.
CDI’s investment staff and its network of 11 investment contractors work to promote Pennsylvania as a compelling business investment location for international companies. With the largest network of overseas offices of any state in the U.S., CDI’s 11 international offices represent a total of 25 different nations.
Nations Represented: AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, BRAZIL, CANADA, CHINA, TAIWAN, FRANCE, BELGIUM, SWITZERLAND,GERMANY, AUSTRIA, SWITZERLAND, POLAND, INDIA, ISRAEL, JAPAN, NETHERLANDS, BELGIUM, FINLAND, DENMARK, NORWAY, SWEDEN, UNITED KINGDOM, IRELAND and ITALY.
CDI staff and a contingent of investment reps will not only meet for a lunchtime tour of the center-city Allentown, but will also stick around as special guests of this evening’s Brokers & Developers Council event at Hotel Bethlehem.

12:45 – 1:00 p.m.
Arrive at 645 Hamilton St, Allentown.
1:10-1:30 p.m.
Short walking tour of City Center/Allentown developments.
1:30 – 3:00 p.m.
Lunch and introductions, presentation “Overview on Lehigh Valley” by LVEDC, followed by “Transforming Allentown” featuring City Center and Waterfront developers.
3:15 p.m.
Group leaves for Bethlehem. Time permitting, they will enjoy a quick drive-by tour of the former Bethlehem Steel property.
4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
LVEDC Broker/Developer Council event on FDI at Hotel Bethlehem.
LVEDC CEO & President Don Cunningham will welcome and introduction of David Briel, Executive Director – Center for Direct Investment. Briel will provide an overview on the Global Investment/FDI program and discuss a few success stories. He will introduce all 11 of the reps and the nations they represent.
Then two of the reps will give a short presentations on what types of projects are coming from their respected countries including trends, industries and expectations to attract those companies.
5:15pm- 6:30 p.m.
Networking will follow with members of the B&D Council and other invited guests.
