A biopharmaceutical company based in Upper Macungie Township is expanding its headquarters to 300,000 feet, doubling its packaging, storage, and distribution facilities in the Lehigh Valley.

Yourway is an integrated premium courier and clinical packager in the clinical trials supply chain market, providing packaging, ancillary materials sourcing, clinical trials kitting, logistics, storage and distribution, and premium courier services to the global biopharmaceutical industry.

The expansion project currently underway at the 6681 Snowdrift Road facility will significantly extend Yourway’s temperature-controlled storage capacity, addressing the growing need for temperature-controlled services for clinical trials, according to the company.

“Adding this new capacity into Yourway’s already unique approach to integrated clinical trial services is the next logical step in the company’s commitment to providing unmatched comprehensive support for the clinical trials needs of clients, offering end-to-end support from packaging all the way to courier services under one company,” said Gulam Jaffer, Founder & President of Yourway.

The company touted the economic benefits of the Lehigh Valley in announcing its expansion, particularly citing the region’s central location in the Northeast, access to market, and well-developed transportation infrastructure.

“The (Lehigh Valley) site is Yourway’s global headquarters and is strategically located for client accessibility close to three major international airports and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” the company stated. “This is another contributor to the ability to transport clinical materials around the world in hours, not days, and for trials to start quickly.”

The expanded complex will add an additional 3,500 pallet locations of refrigerated 2-8 °C space. A total of 1,000 new pallet locations at that temperature have been added so far as part of phase one of the expansion, which is already complete.

The expansion project will include the addition of dedicated temperature-controlled production rooms for GMP packaging and clinical trials kitting services. Jaffer said these amenities will integrate seamlessly with the storage and distribution and premium courier services under Yourway’s model to offer the shortest lead times in the industry.

Jaffer said demand for temperature-controlled storage capacity has grown for clinical trials involving biologics, cell and gene therapies, and other advanced modalities.
