It's #backtoschool time in Lehigh Valley, and the amazing success story of Tracy Yatsko is just one example of what's possible at Lehigh Valley's colleges and universities! Tracy suffered a serious concussion during a high school basketball game that affected her concentration, speech, walking, and balance, and caused debilitating migraines. After a years-long journey toward recovery, she enrolled at the communication studies program at Northampton Community College. Dealing with post traumatic stress disorder and other anxieties resulting from her condition, it wasn't an easy road for Tracy. The professors at NCC were kind and understanding, and she was able to graduate with a degree in communications studies. Today, she is a successful talk show host and television producer with PBS39 in Bethlehem. “I love that I can get involved in the community, share my story and be a role model," she said. "If I can find the power to heal, I can offer others that power." #lvmadepossible #lvbacktoschool #lehighvalley @northamptoncommcollege

“We moved to the Lehigh Valley in 2017 to be closer to family and potential career opportunities. What I love most about living here: The rich history, the picturesque greenery, and backdrop of nature (the actual “valleys”) and some of the meaningful, diverse connections I’ve made with locals. Joining and getting connected within @lehighvalleychamber has been a huge asset to my employer, and for me as an executive and businesswoman. I also love the company I work for, @Miller_Keystone Blood Center, which improves the health of our community by providing blood products to 29 hospitals in our region for patients who need blood to live.” – Qiana Cressman, Founder, @emergewomanmagazine, and Director, Donor Recruitment and Development, Miller-Keystone Blood Center #lvmadepossible #lehighvalley #testimonial #giveapint #findyourpossible #community #business #entrepreneur #careers #pennsylvania

"Born and raised in the Lehigh Valley (Southside of Allentown), I knew I wanted to do something in my life that would help others. My mother worked for Lehigh County as a social worker and my father as a group home counselor. Their work and service to the community inspired my drive to attend law school. I spent eight years in Pittsburgh earning my college and law degrees and starting my career at a large law firm. I missed my family and that close sense of community that I felt was lacking in a larger city. By moving back to the Lehigh Valley, I was able to continue pursuing my law career with a well-respected law firm while contributing to the community that raised me. I have a greater opportunity to diversify my career serving multiple businesses throughout the region and dedicate more time to my clients and living life than spending my time commuting. This all was made possible in the Lehigh Valley.” – Kara M. Beck, Esq. As Lafayette College students come #backtoschool this semester, they will be greeted by the school's newest addition: one of the most innovative collegiate science centers in the entire country. The highly-anticipated Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center, will house scholars teaching and conducting research in biology, computer science, environmental science, and neuroscience at @lafayettecollege, as well as the Dyer Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. To continue to inspire the scientific explorers of the future, Lafayette College seeks for its state-of-the-art spaces to be designed to catalyze learning and discovery at the intersection of disciplines. “I think this is great for creativity," said Khadijah Mitchell, assistant professor of biology. “I think environment is a big determinant in idea generation and creation, and just wanting to be in the lab; this is a space that students will want to be in." . . @lafayettecollege #lvmadepossible #lvbacktoschool #lehighvalley #lafayette #highered #stem #science #college #findyourpossible
