The August 2022 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference, Bethlehem ranking among the Top 100 Places to Live in America, and the 4th annual Lehigh Valley Internship Summit.

Other stories included Ben Franklin investing $150,000 in regional companies, the Pennsylvania Rye Company opening in downtown Allentown, and USSF completing phase 1 testing of its oral COVID-19 vaccine.

The issue also spotlights upcoming events, including the LVEDC Fall Signature Event, Lehigh University’s TE Online Open House, and Ben Franklin’s Venture Idol, and the fourth annual Lehigh Valley Internship Summit.

Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is BRD Noise and Vibration Control, which specializes in HVAC acoustic design and manufacturing.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.

LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
