August 2021 Issue of LVStartup Has Been Released

The August 2021 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about Joe Kovacs competing in the Tokyo Olympic Games, President Joe Biden visiting the Lehigh Valley, Lehigh Valley’s fast-growing 18-34 population growth, and the city of Allentown’s new branding.
Other stories include Hatchery students pursuing entrepreneurial ventures, City Center Residential’s Walnut View at Cityplace getting planning approval, and BFTP/NEP investing $275,000 in the regional economy.
The issue also spotlights upcoming events, including LVTech’s monthly meetup event, and Ben Franklin Technology Partners’ annual Venture Idol event.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is Skillion, which is seeking to create a user experience revolution for bicycles, and soon launching a Kickstarter for its new HAWKeye technology.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
