August 2019 Issue of LVstartup E-Newsletter Has Been Released

The August 2019 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about Forbes magazine highlighting Lehigh Valley’s manufacturing sector, celebrity chef Robert Irvine leasing space in Allentown, Colony Meadery and County Seat Spirits opening new tasting rooms, and Made Possible in Lehigh Valley seeking stories from around the region.
Other stories include Ben Franklin Technology Partners hiring a new Manager of Entrepreneurial Support, City Center Allentown announcing plans for an apartment community, two Bethlehem startups receiving $100,000 each in funding, and Lehigh Valley LaunchBox announcing its new microgrant recipients.
The issue also spotlights several upcoming events, including Demo Day at Lehigh University’s Hatchery student idea accelerator program, LVtech’s summer series event about digital woodworking, the Invent Penn State Venture & IP Conference, and the bi-annual Lehigh Valley Meet the Buyers Expo.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is Rocket Cloud, a Bethlehem-based startup and Ben Franklin TechVentures resident company, which provides software tools that allow heating, ventilation, and air conditioning wholesalers to transact sales on the web.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
