April 2021 Issue of LVStartup Has Been Released

The April 2021 issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, has been released.

This month’s edition highlights stories about Lehigh Valley native Amanda Seyfried’s Oscar nomination, U.S. National Champion cyclist Megan Marquardt starting her career in the Lehigh Valley, and a panel discussion with leaders of some of the region’s life sciences companies.
Other stories include Bio Med Sciences growing its product line in the region, LVEDC’s virtual 2021 Annual Meeting program, the growth of U.S. Specialty Formulations, and the Lehigh Valley adding 800 jobs in January after factoring in seasonal fluctuations.
The issue also spotlights upcoming events, including the State of Northampton County address, the LVTech monthly meetup, an online open house about Lehigh University’s Technical Entrepreneurship program, the Thalheimer Grand Prize Competition, and the Baker Institute Annual Awards Ceremony.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is CryoConcepts, a Bethlehem-based medical device developer and manufacturer that offers products aimed at delivering cryogenic gases for a wide range of medical professionals.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
