December Issue of Monthly LVstartup E-Newsletter Released

The December issue of LVstartup, a monthly e-newsletter about entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley, was released today.
It includes stories about an actress from Orange is the New Black visiting the Lehigh Valley, a roundup of available business incubator space in the region, downtown Allentown winning a prestigious award, and the Southside Bethlehem KIZ’s efforts to foster innovation and entrepreneurship.
Other featured stories include Victaulic investing tens of millions in regional investments, Austrian manufacturer opening a new facility in Bethlehem, a cloud-based integration platform winning the Ben Franklin Venture Idol, and LVEDC releasing its new three-year strategic plan.
The issue also spotlights several upcoming events, including the 2017 Lightning Bar, Lehigh University’s LehighSiliconValley 2018, and LVTech hosting a meetup at the Ben Franklin TechVentures business incubator in Bethlehem.
Additionally, LVstartup features a Lehigh Valley startup each month. This issue, the company is Freebowler, a Bethlehem-based startup manufacturers a portable bowling machine capable of throwing real cricket balls.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
LVstartup receives input from various organizations that serves the local entrepreneurial community, including LVEDC, the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation at Lehigh University, Lehigh Valley Tech, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the Bethlehem Department of Community and Economic Development, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and others.
